Empower Your Consciousness
Welcome, my name is Dr Fergus Reilly[1] and this page presents my view of how Human Consciousness works based on many years of hosting experiential personal transformation retreats[2].
Consciousness is a subjective experience which, like fingerprints, is different for every man, woman and child on our planet.
We all have it, we all have to live with it and learning to use intentionally is the way we make life become the experience we desire.
My research has been carried out through helping people understand on a deep heart-felt level how they could experience life the way they wanted to - something that is broadly the same for everyone and different in detail for us all. The results people achieved at MindVision were always positive and empowering shifts in consciousness realting to their life and living.
Boiled down into one sentence it might be phrased thusly:
Empower Your Consciousness and Choose What Fills Your Heart / Awareness / Perception.
Observing these changes and how they were achieved has led to the development of the material presented below.First lets look at how I perceive consciousness operates
We live in a 3-dimensional space - so we have been taught - and this is reflected in 3 dimensions of consciousness.

These then are 3 dimensions which together define the three-dimensional space which our consciousness inhabits.
How they interact forms a picture consciousness which illustrates a way to experience a greater degree of conscious empowerment in life and living.
The first dimension: Level of Consciousness
This first dimension is visualised as a vertical scale. At the bottom is the lowest level we can experience as a living human entity, I call this disembodiment, death is another term. Moving down through this level is the “descent into hell” style of dying. It is the lowest level our consciousness can descend to while continuing to operate a body, below that human life cannot be consciously sustained as we know it and the body ceases to function (dies).Above that is a ladder of levels - I've used a spectrum to add colour and indicate an increasing level of the frequency of light or vibration.
At the top the intensity of light is white and we come to a level where the human form has reached the limit of its capacity to act as a vehicle for consciousness - this is where consciousness transcends embodiment.
“Death” is equally applicable here but this is the “ascent into heaven” version.

The second dimension: Empowerment of Consciousness
Now a look at a second dimension of consciousness - the dimension of empowerment, a measure of our potency, our capacity to consciously manifest or create reality the way we want to experience it.This dimension measures size - capacity - perpendicular to the Level of Consciousness axis. The scale is infinite - unlimited, as many sources agree, here it is depicted within the constraints of the area available on the screen.
I need some other graphics to illustrate features of this dimension - the graphic will appear below the text relating to it.
As with all 2-dimensional graphs we need a line to indicate the relationship between the quantities represented by the 2 scales or axes.
We start with a straight line drawn from the lower left hand corner - the point of lowest level of consciousness and least power running up to the top right - the point of highest consciousness and maximum (infinite) empowerment.
I call this line the “boundary of awareness” and see it as indicating the relative degree of conscious empowerment attainable at the level of consciousness.
It also serves to illustrate the boundary between subconscious or unconscious control over our life and our ability to consciously create the reality we experience.
However, I believe the boundary of awareness is not a straight line - it is a curve which extends from zero to infinity within the embodied portion of consciousness.
Visualise this as an exponential-style curve:
Now it becomes apparent how significant our level of consciousness is when it comes to creating our lives and living - our “reality”. It is also quite illuminating about the degree of control our subconscious exerts over us until we raise our level of consciousness.
This empowerment contour indicates the degree of empowerment attainable at any particular level of consciousness. The way we attain that maximum available degree of conscious empowerment is with passion.
I regard the terms “consciously empowered” and “passionate” as similar. I find that people who are passionate about what they are doing are operating with as high a degree of conscious empowerment as their passion demands or provides.
This may be anywhere within the range available at their level of consciousness.
If we desire power - true personal power within ourselves and not the illusory worldly power measured by external symbols of status or our ability to force others to bend to our will - raising our consciousness is the first step, becoming passionate is the next.
Which leads to the third dimension of human consciousness: in what direction lies one's passion?
The third dimension: Direction of Consciousness
This dimension has direction as the prominent characteristic.All directions appear equal in consciousness - a circular or radial depiction suits best.
The directions are as diverse as human interests and I think that is as much as I can say about the measurement of this dimension, however a fascinating image is forming.
Rotating the empowerment contour about the vertical axis of the level of consciousness creates a three-dimensional surface.
When the rotation is complete - once all the possible directions human interest take (speaking for humanity as a whole here) have been encompassed, we discover this:
A surface of conscious awareness or empowerment - the 3 dimensional representation of the field or surface of human consciousness.
It looks remarkably similar - to me - to the gravity field of a black hole[3].
Using the analogy of a black hole: the rite of passage or baggage barrier relates to an event horizon - past which light cannot escape.
I see human consciousness as having 2 principal event horizons (the above diagram shows only one).
The first is at the level of owned truth - it represents the Rite of Passage[4] from unconscious living to conscious living.
The second is at the level of understanding, where we need to relinquish our dependence on “knowing how things work” as a validation of our individual existence in order to ascend further.
These barriers are the major obstacles which prevent much of humanity from attaining their “highest potential”.
An example of Conscious Empowerment
An example of what one can achieve with an empowered consciousness is my work creating a software application called CyberSayer®[5].I set out to create a program which could divine what was of significant concern within a person's consciousness or awareness- and which could offer them help or support in dealing or coping constructively with the experience.
Within 2 years I had a working prototype of a program that did just that. I had done it by raising my consciousness to a level around illumination/compassion when designing and coding.
When the Internet came along it was a while before I wondered if it would work over the internet - it was more of a curiosity within me at first.
It worked similarly effectively throughout a 5 years research phase. This seemed a major obstacle - I had developed an “understanding” of how CyberSayer might work which was built upon my “understanding” of computer hardware and software.
And it really would not explain the phenomenom.
The thing I found so challenging to come to terms with was that one computer - in Sydney, Australia - could discern, with apparent equal effectiveness, the subjective concerns of folks all over the world.
And it was all happening on a server that was simultaneously dealing with requests for around 300 other websites. You can see some of the feedback I was getting around that time on CyberSayer's old site (I've left it there as a sort of museum piece of digital consciousness research).
It took me around 5 years to accept that
- it was happening, consistently, reliably and continuously irrespective of geography or physical location
- there was no way I could explain (understand) how it was doing that
It seemed that, having operated with a level of consciousness above that of understanding, I had created something which also operated beyond understanding.
I returned to developing CyberSayer with the view of creating a space on the internet where people could investigate their consciousness in peace and safety, free of expectations or judgements with compassionate support.
It has become much more than a curious consciousness space - it is now a potent space where lives are changed, awareness evolves, gently and empoweringly.
The point I am making here is that I created something beyond the limitations of (my) human understanding by working at that level of consciousness.
You, too, can achieve your “impossible dream” once you operate at levels of consciousness above understanding - the space without limitations.
